Understanding the cost of psychiatric care should not add unnecessary stress to the process of seeking support. Novalux Psychiatry offers insurance billing and self-pay options for adults and older adults. Before your appointment is confirmed, our team will help you understand the information needed to verify your insurance benefits or use our published self-pay rates.
Using Health Insurance
We help you verify your benefits before care begins
If you plan to use insurance, provide your current insurance information when requesting an appointment. By selecting insurance as your payment method, you authorize Novalux Psychiatry to check your eligibility with your insurance carrier before confirming your appointment.
Insurance coverage varies according to the individual plan. Being eligible for benefits does not necessarily mean that every service will be covered in full.
Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for:
A copayment
A deductible
Coinsurance
Services your insurance plan does not cover
Charges resulting from inaccurate or outdated insurance information
We recommend contacting the member-services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm your mental or behavioral health benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance company
When speaking with your insurer, consider asking:
Is Novalux Psychiatry or Dr. Sochima Ochije in network with my plan?
Does my plan cover outpatient psychiatric evaluations?
Does my plan cover psychiatric medication-management visits?
Do I have a deductible that must be met first?
What are my copayment or coinsurance responsibilities?
Is prior authorization or a referral required?
Are telehealth psychiatric appointments covered under my plan?
Important insurance notice
Insurance eligibility verification is not a guarantee of payment. The final benefit determination is made by your insurance company after a claim has been processed.
Patients remain responsible for deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and services that are not covered by their insurance plan.
Self-pay is available for patients who do not have insurance, prefer not to use insurance or whose plan does not cover a requested service. Novalux Psychiatry currently publishes the following self-pay fees:

How to cancel or reschedule
Contact the office as soon as possible by telephone or through the patient portal.
A valid payment card must be kept on file to schedule and attend appointments. For an attended appointment, the card on file may be charged after the session for:
The applicable insurance copayment
The published self-pay fee
A deductible or coinsurance amount
Another patient-responsibility balance
An approved administrative service
By providing a payment card, the patient authorizes Novalux Psychiatry to charge the card for applicable patient-responsibility amounts in accordance with the practice’s payment terms. If you have questions about an expected charge, contact the office before your appointment.
Frequently Asked Payment Questions
